The Criterion Rules
The Criterion is dedicated to the safety and entertainment of all their guests. But this commitment to the total experience of its visitors requires the following set of rules and policies. Please make sure you take the time to read the rules below and abide by them during your visit. Failure to follow these rules may result in expulsion from the venue without refund.
It’s always helpful to familiarize yourself with The Criterion’s policies before attending any event to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Below are some of the top considerations, although the details may change based on which event you’re attending.
If you have any questions, you may call The Criterion at (405) 840-5500.
Photographs and Videos
Camera policies vary significantly by artist and event, with some performers allowing personal photography and others prohibiting all cameras and recording devices. Small personal cameras generally receive approval, but professional cameras, GoPros, and iPads face restrictions at most shows. Check the specific event details before you arrive.
Smoking Policy
The venue does not allow smoking or vaping in any area of the building. This policy applies to all tobacco and electronic cigarette products. To avoid disappointment, you should also check your ticket details to ensure that if you exit the venue for a smoke break, you will be allowed to re-enter.
Bag Policy
The Criterion’s bag policy enforces standard security protocols, including bag checks and walk-through metal detector screening at entry points. Large bags face restrictions, and backpacks are not allowed. Clear bags typically move through security faster, as long as they are within the limit of 8.5 inches by 11 inches, but may still be subject to bag searches by security personnel.
Child Attendance Policy
If they fall within the age restrictions indicated for the event, children of all ages can attend shows at The Criterion. Some performances do enforce minimum age requirements, so verify these details for your specific show before purchasing tickets for younger guests. Minors attending all-ages shows must follow all venue rules and cannot purchase or consume alcohol.
Guest Behavior Policy
The Criterion maintains a zero-tolerance policy for disruptive behavior. You must respect other guests by keeping aisles and exits clear, following staff instructions, and avoiding anything that will interfere with others’ enjoyment of the show. Security personnel maintain a visible presence throughout events.
Accessibility Policy
The Criterion is an ADA accessible venue. Please contact the box office in advance or locate the box office upon arrival to have The Criterion team make special accommodations and plan accordingly. It is recommended to call the venue no less than two weeks prior to your arrival.
