Asheville, NC natives Wednesday are a 4-piece outfit that blend shoegaze, noise rock and alt-country together to create what they call "countrygaze". With the release of their latest album Bleeds fans can expect the band to play a high energy live show complete with charm and passion. Fans can expect to hear fan favorites "Wasp" and "Elderberry Wine" off of their latest album as well as other tracks off of previous releases.
Mannequin Pussy will be closing out the show of indie rock mayhem with their powerful and chaotic punk rock performance.

Wednesday is an Asheville, NC band of 2017 that is comprised of Shoegaze, noise rock, and alt-country infused indie rockers who create a unique sound in the alternative scene. They bring a southern telling of stories to their fans in their genre of music. You will be able to see Wednesday performing songs such as "Wasp" and "Elderberry Wine" and experience their whole show at The Criterion on Monday, November 16th, 2016.
The music of Wednesday's current tour is focused on their new album, "Bleeds" which has been receiving huge praise from fans and critics alike. The album shows the growth and place of Wednesday in the current indie scene. The country influenced guitar riffs and wall of shoegaze sound in their songs are unique to Wednesday and bring a Southern storytelling feel to their fans. The lead vocalist Karly Hartzman and guitarist MJ Lenderman bring the songs to life in their performances. They are pushing the limits of indie rock and creating a new genres of music. Critics are calling the sound of Wednesday "countrygaze" and "creekgaze" and Wednesday is leading the front of this new sound of music.
Mannequin Pussy brings the wild, high-energy punk rock to The Criterion on November 16th. Mannequin Pussy is a band of four wild women from the East Coast who deliver raw and passionate performances and are guaranteed to give it their all at The Criterion on November 16th.
The Criterion is a 3,000+ person capacity venue, with General Admission seating for shows. This means that you can put your self anywhere in the venue you would like to take in the show. We have created a large layout for The Criterion with many different areas for different types of shows. A pay lot to park is located west of the Criterion building. The closest free parking is located at the Bass Pro Shops parking lot. This lot is two blocks south of the Criterion. With limited space to park in the surrounding streets to the Criterion, we recommend you take a ride share or car pool to the show. There are many lots and street parking available around the Criterion and are within walking distance to the venue.
